It is also known as piles. A common misconception regarding piles is that it is a mass deposition. Piles are swollen veins in the lower part of the anus and rectum. Hemorrhoids can be of 2 types

  1. Internal hemorrhoids: they are located inside the rectum and invisible from the outside. Rectal bleeding is the first sign of internal hemorrhoids.
  2. External hemorrhoids: they occur outside the anus and are therefore visible. External hemorrhoids can be painful.

  • Constipation
  • Heavy lifting
  • Low fibre diet
  • Overweight.
